Fun is Fuel for Learning

General Fun Run Information

Donations can be made online in addition to other forms of payment. 

Check your student's backpack for paper copies of all Fun Run information.

The JNE staff will be hosting the 4th annual Fun Run!

Who: All JNE Students, Staff, & Volunteers
What: JNE Fun Run 2025
When: Friday, September 26th (if there is inclement weather the Fun Run will be held on Tuesday, September 30th)
Why: To raise funds to enhance educational opportunities and events at JNE

What you need to know:
  • The JNE Fun Run is a fundraising event.
  • All students get to participate. 
  • Students can run or walk at the event.
  • The Fun Run is like a color run, however, the color we use is liquid based.
  • JNE staff and volunteers will splash and squirt color on students as they complete laps.
  • The liquid color is non-toxic, non-staining, and safe for kids. It has been designed and approved by US toy safety standards. It is environmentally friendly and easily cleaned up. It easily washes off skin and hair and comes out of clothing in a normal washing cycle.

On the day of the Fun Run:
  • Students must wear closed-toed athletic/tennis shoes (no Crocs, flip flops, dress shoes, etc.).
  • Students should wear clothing/tennis shoes that can get liquid color on them.
  • Students can wear hats and sunglasses.
  • Students should bring a water bottle to have on the track during the Fun Run.
  • It is recommended that students wear sunscreen.
  • Students should bring a complete change of clothes/shoes and a plastic sack to store wet clothes in. We do not have extra clothing/shoes for students.
  • Students should bring a dry towel.

Prizes:
  • Class that raises the most money: Movie/Popcorn Day
  • Grade level that raises the most money: Extra recess
  • Student(s) that raises the most money: Slime administrators
 

Volunteer Information

Volunteers Needed:
  • In addition to JNE staff, we will need parent volunteers to make this event possible.
  • We will need help with set-up, during the event, and with clean up.
  • 4th-5th grade students will participate from 10:00-10:45.
  • 2nd-3rd grade students will participate from 11:15-12:00.
  • K-1st grade students will participate from 1:00-1:45.
  • Set-up will begin around 9:15 am and clean up around 2:00 pm.

  • All volunteers must complete the volunteer background process at least 5 days prior to the event. 
  • Only approved volunteers will be able to be present during the run. 

Volunteer Background Process:
The Blue Springs School District has partnered with the local company DataSource to enhance and strengthen the background screening process for Volunteer Guests. It is FREE, SECURE, and SIMPLE to register.

Please go to the link below. All Blue Springs School District schools will be listed. Click on the building in which you are planning to volunteer. (If you have students attending multiple buildings, you will only need to complete one application. After completing the application, please contact the Building School Resource Officer for the school you applied at and let them know you have students at additional locations).
Please note: district employees/volunteer staff are required to receive a MACHS (Missouri Automated Criminal History System) background check prior to being employed. This is a comprehensive background check with continuous monitoring. Therefore, district employees looking to volunteer at their child’s school should not complete this screening as they have already been evaluated through the MACHS system.

Volunteer applications MUST be submitted at least five (5) days before the event for which you are volunteering.


After submission, please wait for an email from DataSource. The email will let you know whether you have been approved or denied.
