Welcome to John Nowlin Elementary!
As the new principal of John Nowlin Elementary (JNE) it is my sincere pleasure and honor to become a part of this outstanding educational community. The dedication of the JNE staff is evident from the work that is already taking place in classrooms. Not only am I ready to see the teaching staff in action but I am also looking forward to meeting and getting to know both you and your child in the weeks to come. I am truly honored to serve as the 2020-2021principal and to begin working with the dedicated staff and families to provide the best possible educational program for all students.
Before coming to JNE I served in several different educational capacities in the Blue Springs School District. I began my career 18 years ago as a 1st grade teacher at Franklin Smith Elementary. From there I became a Literacy Coach at William Bryant Elementary. I was also the assistant principal at both Daniel Young Elementary and Voy Spears Jr. Elementary. Most recently I have served as the principal at Liggett Trail Education Center. In addition to my career being rooted in the Blue Springs School District, so is my family. I am a proud mother to two boys that also attend school in the Blue Springs School District.
My hope is to provide the leadership that will facilitate a school environment that meets individual student’s needs. Parents, teachers, support staff, and administration all have an important role in providing the most optimal learning environment for all students. Through a close and collegial partnership with everyone at JNE, I am confident this will be an outstanding school year.
This school year will likely be unlike any other we have experienced. A strong home/school partnership and communication will be imperative. I assure you that as decisions are made, information will be communicated to you as quickly as possible.
Please know I am here to support you and your child and to ensure that this is a positive school experience for all. Please feel free to contact me at any time if you have questions or concerns. I have no doubt this will be a wonderful school year.
